About Melanie Maslaniec
My journey to creating digital art has been a crooked path. I have learned on my own through the many resources available on the internet. I love the modern age as I prefer to be an organic learner. My spiritual inspiration has also been long and interesting as I am sure it has been for many people.
While learning some energy healing modalities, my mind was opened to new possibilities. Through my life time, my creative outlets have evolved. I began drawing, painting and writing when I was a child. As I grew, I had a few hobbies and crafts but stepped away from it for a few years. In my forties I began to be heavily inspired by creating organic jewelry, a journey that started while living in Australia. Although I will probably always create jewelry, my focus is now digital art and photography.
I have always been interested in graphic design and photography but it has taken me some time to learn the skills to manifest my ideas. My learning increased while photographing my jewelry. A friend said my photographs didn't display my product very well but they really liked the photograph, which made me wonder if that is what I should be doing.
I sometimes just love a photograph of natures true art but I also love to create compositions, with my focus being on the spiritual energy that surrounds us. I also enjoy oil and rust and decay because I like how natural forces interact with man made materials and the beauty that it creates. I hope others will find my work interesting as I continue on my evolving and expanding journey of creativity. I will be adding more information and, of course, more pictures.
